What is that thing in the soundhole?

When the artwork for Eric's new album cover was being created, the design team at Ardith Recordings thought up the concept of replacing the soundhole on Eric's Taylor guitar with a total solar eclipse. After all, that was the origin of the album's title, The Shadow of the Moon. Pretty clever and subtle, right? Well, apparently it was a little too subtle. Or not clever enough. So some folks have been coming up with their own ideas of what might really be in the soundhole. If you have a notion of what it looks like, tell us about it and we'll share your thoughts here. There will be no prizes awarded beyond the satisfaction of knowing that you're cleverer than we are. Here are some of the messages we have received:
A Thought About The Soundhole
It looks like a donut to me. After all, didn't Eric once have donut issues?
-- Laura M.

Eric responds: Although it's true that in my days as the overnight DJ at WDST, I had an unhealthy relationship with donuts, it's something I dealt with long ago and I'm happy to say that I am completely recovered. It's an eclipse.

It's just really hard to see
I put on my reading glasses, I got out my magnifying glass and I still couldn't make the damn thing out! Some of us don't have the eyesight we once did, you know!

-- Bill R.

Eric replies: Yeah, I know. If we still made real LP albums, with 12" jackets, we could have put a whole galaxy in there and there'd be no mistaking it!
